You’ve seen all contouring videos on the internet and it’s so fun to watch the transformation!! But is it realistic?
Dramatic contouring can be a great tool for still photography ( especially black and white! ) and for stage, but contouring for everyday can be tricky. My rule of thumb is to lighten what you want to show up and darken what you want to disappear- for example a little shading with bronzer under your chin can soften excess skin around neck and jawline. Bronzer is great tool for daily shading.
You can also use our brow powder (yes believe it!!) or shading #2 in contour kit for subtle cheekbone shading – soft blush, highlighter on top of cheeks, and voilà! you have great cheekbones!
Shading color # 1 is great for contouring sides of the nose to make it more narrow with a highlight down the middle of the nose!
Contouring is really a matter of blending to create an illusion – the foundation brush and sponges are the best tools for this-
So try it out and remember a little makes a big difference!
